info & booking

Bohinj is one of most renowned fly-fishing area in Slovenia.

Clean water and cunning fish are the assurance that the fishing will be good and very exciting. In Bohinj you will find both intact natural surroundings and easy access to all fishing areas. Here fishers can easily find a peaceful place just for themselves.

The Sava Bohinjka is a beautiful alpine river that flows out of Lake Bohinj and then runs through beautiful mountain scenery. Brown trout, rainbow trout and grayling all thrive in the river.

In all Sava districts, where fishing is permitted, it is possible to fish "Catch and Take" or "Catch and Release". Only barb-less hooks are permitted and fishing is restricted to one fly rod (with a single fly) per person.

In the glacial Bohinj Lake you can find the following indigenous fish species: Lake trout, Burbot and Chub. Non-indigenous fish include the Lake Brook trout, which is, for fish gourmets, a very well known speciality.

In Bohinj Lake it is permitted to use one fishing set (one rod), from the coast or from the boat. Only artificial or dead baits are allowed. Bone worms are forbidden.

Fishing season: from 1. March to 30. September.
